These terms apply to the PantryRun mobile app. By installing or using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
PantryRun is a grocery-list app for households. Lists are stored on your device and, if you pair with family members, synchronised between your devices in encrypted form through a relay server. Some price-related features are optional and off unless you turn them on. What the app does with data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
PantryRun has no sign-up, no password, and no way for us to identify you. That is deliberate, and it has a consequence you must understand:
Your data is encrypted with keys that exist only on your devices and in your 12-word recovery phrase. Nobody else holds a copy — not the developer, not the relay operator. If you lose every paired device and your recovery phrase, your lists cannot be recovered by anyone, ever. This is a design property, not a support limitation. Write the phrase down and keep it somewhere safe.
Family sync needs a relay server. You may run your own, or use one operated by someone else — including one operated by PantryRun. Whoever runs the relay can see connection metadata (which device IDs connect, when, and how large the messages are) but cannot read the contents of your lists.
Relays are provided as-is and without any guarantee of uptime, durability, or data retention. If you run your own, its security, backups and availability are your responsibility. Undelivered sync messages held by a relay are deleted automatically after a retention period (30 days by default) — a relay is a delivery mechanism, not a backup.
Prices shown in the app may come from what you type in, from a photographed store flyer read by an automated extraction step, from a shared community pool, or from a store catalogue. All of it can be wrong: extraction can misread a number, a unit or a product; catalogue data can be stale; a price may not apply at your store or on your date.
Treat every price in PantryRun as an approximation and verify it at the shelf. We are not responsible for purchasing decisions, budgets, or expectations based on displayed prices, savings figures, or store comparisons.

Your lists are yours. We claim no ownership of anything you create in the app, and we cannot read it in any case.
The PantryRun name and logo belong to their owner. The app's source code is published publicly for inspection; publishing source for review is not by itself a grant of a licence to reuse it, and any reuse rights are governed solely by the licence file distributed with the code.
PantryRun is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the app — including lost data, missed purchases, or reliance on price information.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country, including under Canadian consumer legislation or, for users in the EU/UK, your statutory rights.
If you installed PantryRun from the App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to your download, and refunds are handled under that store's policy rather than by us.
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app, which removes the local database and its keys from that device. Leaving a family unpairs that device from future sync. We may withdraw access to a relay we operate from anyone who attacks or abuses it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory local law.
We may update these terms. The effective date above will change, and material changes will be signalled in the app where practical. Continuing to use PantryRun after a change means you accept the updated terms.
